Welcome

The Lafayette Stamp Club in Lafayette, Indiana was formed in the 1940s and has been welcoming stamp collectors from Tippecanoe and surrounding counties for years.

We gather twice a month to talk about stamps and covers and discuss any subject related to the hobby of philately, the hobby of kings and the king of hobbies. We welcome young and old alike and are actively looking to recruit new members. During our two hour meetings we may exchange stories, trade stamps and covers and actively engage in buying and selling items to improve our collections. Boxes of stamps and covers, and mini collections are usually available for members to buy and sell stamps and covers inexpensively. Along the way we make lifelong friends.

During our meetings we also assist any individuals interested in obtaining an estimate of value in broad terms for a stamp collection, inherited or otherwise. Suggested next steps will be provided based on an initial evaluation.

We have an ambitious agenda for the club. Some of our goals include: periodic auctions of member submitted items, periodic Stamp Shows and also Presentations by club members who may be subject matter experts. The establishment of a mini philatelic library is also on our list.
