Quito, Ecuador Philatelic Exhibition

On January 1 Ecuador commemorated  the 150th anniversary of its first postage stamp. To celebrate this event the Ecuadorian Filatelic Association is organizing a philatelic exhibition, EXPOAFE 150 Años, which will take place in Quito between September 29th and October 2nd, 2015.
The celebration includes the following events which are complimentary but also independent:
1. The fourth South Pacific Philatelic Exhibition (Sept. 29 - Oct. 2),
2. The Second Congress of Topical Philately (Sept. 26 - 29),
3. A seminar on Youth Philately sponsored by the Intl Philatelic Federation (Oct. 1),
4. The XLIX Reunion of the Inter American Philatelic Federation (FIAF) (Oct. 2).
 
Expo AFE is sponsored by FIAF, which includes all nations of the American Continents and Spain. Twenty countries have already subscribed to the event, the largest number since FIAF was founded in 1968.

The United States will be represented by two judges at this event, Stephen Reinhard, current President of the American Philatelic Society (APS), and James Mazepa, former president of FIAF. The Commissioner for the United States will be Carlos Vergara.
The exhibition will be run by FIP GREX and GREV regulations. The following categories are offered:
 5 and 8 Frame Exhibits
- Court of Honor
- Traditional
- Postal History
- Postal Stationery
- Aerophilately
- Astrophilately
- Thematic
- Open Class
- Maxiphilia
- Revenues
One Frame (which can be up to 3 frames)

In order to qualify, an exhibit must have garnered a vermeil in a National Exhibition. Frame fees are $55 per frame for multi-frames, and $100 for "one frame" exhibits. These fees do not include any commissioner fees related to transport of exhibits.
