APS Introduces 2014 Class of Young Philatelic Leaders

Michael Cortese, Sarah Chenevert,
Cassandra Stahl, Sabrina McGill, Owen Chun,
and APS President Stephen Reinhard.

Milwaukee, WI – For the fifth year in a row, the American Philatelic Society (APS) introduced the incoming class of Young Philatelic Leaders Fellowship (YPLF) participants at StampShow, the APS’s national 4-day event. It is the goal of the YPLF to create philatelic leaders of tomorrow by connecting them with the leaders of today and by providing them with enriching, dynamic experiences. They are given the opportunity to explore and realize their individual philatelic goals with the help of an YPLF Mentor. The Fellows choose one of three Tracks: Dealer, Author, or Exhibitor, and complete assignments and a final project. During the year they will attend three APS stamp shows and visit the Smithsonian National Postal Museum and the American Philatelic Center.

As the YPLF introduced the 2014 class of fellows, they also graduated the 2013 class. The graduates were Katie Vasicek, Dealer Track and Schyuler Rumsey Fellow; Autumn Hanley, Exhibitor Track and William Raible Fellow; and Casey Cook, Dealer Track and U.S. Philatelic Classics Society Fellow. Look for them around the hobby.

Interested young people may apply for the Class of 2015 beginning in January 2014. Applications forms and more information are available at www.stamps.org/Fellowship-Details. Those interested in making a donation to help support this exciting new program are welcome. Potential donors may visit www.stamps.org/Support-YPLF to find out how they may contribute.
